22 February 2011

février, Qu'ai-je fait?

As Adam sang in the New Year with his top tunes, I sung along with him. As January was pushed in, blustery and cold, with intermittent blue skies, I felt hopeful. School was going well, grades were getting improved, and I felt a sense of surprising calm. That is, until February. Perhaps the double double toil and trouble was all for me, but I am ending it on what seems to be rather an un-high note.

Project meetings, essays and a multitude of coursework came cascading down. For some reason, I seemed to have less money in my bank than I thought, and applying for part-time work seemed to run me into dead-end streets with rats scuttling in their corners, paper bags blowing in the breeze.

It wasn't over yet, no. February gave me a rotten hand, which took away my phone. I now, have a replacement. After a day of declaring my case to the metropolitan police, claim numbers, insurance numbers, phone numbers, card numbers, the insurance company still wanted to keep my case in pending. So here is the fruit of my labour thus far, Alcatel. Midi ringtones bring a cacophony of much missed sounds.

My dear Al shall keep me connected. I have not yet been beat by the system! Let's just hope that March will bring some kind of respite from this February storm.
